Welcome Rain
It is pouring here all of a sudden and it sounds heavenly beating on the metal roof of this building. June is one of our driest months. It's break time and I tried to talk two of my employees into playing in the rain but they somehow didn't think that was a good idea. hmmm Spoilsports! lol Yes, I was going to join them. Maybe closer to the end of the day when I won't have to sit here drenched and work. With the rain, I keep thinking of the amusing times I am my siblings had playing in the ditch near the house. The culverts would become clogged with debris and we weren't allowed to climb into them to clean them so when it rained hard enough the ditch would fill with water and make a perfect swimming hole. Being typical children, we saw no danger or hazards from broken bottles and other things that might be hidden by the water and sometimes had to run home for a bandage before returning to the fun while in the meantime the others had dived for the offending object and removed it. For those small enough the sloping sides of the ditch made a perfect slide. The ditch was covered with grass so we didn't get to indulge in mud wars; those were reserved for the pond in the pasture where my brother built a raft as if he was Huckleberry Finn but with less successful results. Gosh! Those were good times.
